Security and Risk Management Consultant

We are seeking a confident, personable, and adaptable freelance Security and Risk Management Consultant to support our clients in the theatre and live events industry. You will play a vital role in enhancing safety, compliance, and awareness through auditing, advisory work, and the delivery of tailored training.

This is a client-facing position that requires excellent communication skills, a sound understanding of safety and security principles, and the ability to tailor your approach to meet the specific needs of each client and venue.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site security and risk audits in theatres, venues, and event spaces
• Provide practical, context-driven advice on a range of security and risk topics
• Deliver engaging, audience-specific training sessions to client teams
• Produce clear and professional audit reports, action plans, and recommendations
• Work collaboratively with clients to improve safety culture and operational resilience
• Stay informed on current legislation, best practice, and industry standards
• Travel to client locations across the UK as required (travel and expenses covered)

Person Specification

Essential:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – confident speaking with people at all levels
• Ability to explain complex security and risk concepts in simple, relatable terms
• A flexible and adaptive approach to suit a wide range of client environments
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• A professional manner, both written and verbal
• A proactive and solutions-focused mindset

Desirable:

• Previous experience in theatre, events, hospitality, or public venue operations
• Relevant qualifications in Security, Risk Management, Crowd Safety, or similar.
• Experience in delivering training or facilitating workshops
