This course is designed for those working with children. It provides an awareness of first aid requirements for these situations.
The course is suitable for those working in registered early years provision and anybody working with children from birth to 8 years.
Staff who complete the course will be confident in their ability to deal with any issues that arise.
It is fully compliant with OFSTED and the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage 2017) guidelines and is Accredited by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB).
This 12-hour paediatric first aid training course can be delivered at your premises. Up to 16 staff may attend at a time.

Who should attend?
Anyone working out of schools, pre-schools, playgroups or in full day care settings and caring for the under 8s (meeting OFSTED requirements).
What will they learn?
Awareness of situations likely to occur when looking after children which require First Aid. Appropriate strategies for successfully resolving them.
Pre-Requisites
Our courses provide a practical approach. This hands-on training delivers the skills and confidence needed for real life First Aid. Candidates must:
- Attend the full course to be eligible for assessment
- Be physically capable of handling the practical elements of the course
Course content
- Insight into regulations
- CPR (Infant and child)
- Choking
- Anaphylaxis (including the use of epi-pens or similar)
- Resuscitation
- Croup
- Shock
- Bandaging
- Record Keeping
Certificate
Successful participants will obtain an RB Health & Safety Solutions Certificate. This recognised certificate is valid for 3 years.
