Description
Legionella bacteria have the potential to cause serious harm to people’s health if not carefully controlled. As a result, all premises containing a man-made water system must ensure that the system is safe to use, regularly maintained and free from the harmful bacteria. Theatres are no exception and they present unique and serious challenges to be overcome by Theatre Managers and the people in charge of day-to-day operations. We must not forget that Legionnaire’s disease is notifiable under public health legislation.
This eLearning module will take you approximately 90 – 120 minutes to complete. It is self-paced, and you can pause it, review sections, and come back to it as you wish.
It contains eight sections and there are short questionnaires to complete as you progress through the training to help you consolidate your knowledge.
This course complements the COSHH Awareness eLearning.
Who should do this eLearning?
This course is for the Management and Supervisory team identified as being responsible for the control and prevention of legionella bacteria in theatre buildings such as: Theatre and Technical Management, Properties and Maintenance Managers/Supervisors and Heads of Departments plus their Deputies.
